The Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung underlined the government’s main tasks were promoting higher economic growth, maintaining socio-political stability, strengthening defence, ensuring national sovereignty and territorial integrity and successfully organising party congresses at various levels.
The Prime Minister agreed on the need to increase investment in rural areas while raising resources to improve socio-economic infrastructure. He promised more assistance for fishermen to boost production and at the same time protect national sovereignty.
