Addressing the event, the general secretary reviewed the achievements recorded so far in the ties between the two countries.
Japan has provided 2,500 billion yen in the last two decades, accounting for 30 per cent of Vietnam’s international ODA alone. Japanese firms have also invested almost 38 billion US dollars into the country, providing an important driving force for further ties. Party leader Nguyen Phu Trong said Japan has become Vietnam’s third largest trade partner.
