ASEAN members strengthen co-operation in Russia

The event was proposed by Vietnam as a way to strengthen the relationship between ASEAN members in Russia, prior to the ASEAN-Russia summit which will take place in the Russian city of Sochi in May.

At the meeting, the ambassadors discussed preparations for the 20^th anniversary of ASEAN-Russian relations in 2016, which is also the ASEAN Culture in Russia Year and the Russian Culture in ASEAN year. ASEAN ambassadors also planned an exhibition of high-quality products from ASEAN countries to be held towards the end of the year.

These actions are expected to not only strengthen the relationship between ASEAN member countries in Russia, but also help show Russia the potential of co-operation with ASEAN in the future.
