The programme was attended by representatives from the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, the Vietnam Youth Federation, the Ministry of Health, and the Vietnam Young Physicians’ Association, as well as students, and youth union members in Hai Phong City.
Speaking at the launch ceremony, Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union Central Committee Nguyen Ngoc Luong said, that the programme illustrates not only young physicians’ responsibility in the community but also their willingness and vanguard role in protecting and improving people’s health.
A similar programme was also organised in localities across the country yesterday, attracting the participation of around 6,000 young physicians, and 10,000 volunteers.
The programme targets to provide free health check-ups to 50,000 people, and online doctor consultations to 100,000 others.
Participating physicians and doctors will update people on information on the prevention and control of non-communicable diseases and post-COVID-19 symptoms.
During the programme, the organisers will coordinate with benefactors to present 10 ultrasound systems to 10 hospitals, at the district level in Son La, Yen Bai, Bac Ninh, Thanh Hoa, Quang Ngai, Can Tho, Hue, Soc Trang, Dak Lak, and Ha Tinh provinces.
On the occasion, gifts will also be delivered to disadvantaged children, Vietnamese heroic mothers, war veterans, and border soldiers.
