An expected 10,000 young people will join volunteering groups in disadvantaged communities in remote and ethnic regions throughout the country, as well as villages associated with President Ho Chi Minh’s revolutionary career.
In addition to conventional activities, volunteers will also examine residents for post-COVID symptoms, and build and upgrade restrooms in disadvantaged schools.
Speaking at the ceremony, National Assembly Vice Chairman Tran Thanh Man underlined the significant role of young people and asked the Youth Union to educate their peers about revolutionary ideals through such volunteering activities.
For his part, First Secretary of the Youth Union Nguyen Anh Tuan asked the organisation’s local chapters to organise the activities following their specific needs and political tasks.
At the event, Party and State leaders and central organisations presented 2.5 billion VND to Thanh Hoa Province to support building houses for poor people and provided the Thanh Hoa Youth Union with 17 billion to implement youth projects.
