After 11 games, Hien was tied in points with her Hungarian rival but with surplus, she was named top in the U8 category. This is the second time a Vietnamese chess player has won a world youth championship. The first time was 21 years ago, when Nguyen Thi Dung won in the U21 category.
According to Vietnam’s chess grandmasters, Cam Hien has the potential to become a world-class chess player in the future, as she has shown her ability to focus and strong determination to win in of all her games.
