VNCU: Raising hospital quality
VTV.vn - There has been a common misconception that in order to improve the quality of hospital, more focus should be on new equipment.

However, according to experts from the European Union Health Facility (EUHF), it is the day -to-day management of hospital that counts in improved patient satisfaction. This concept stands at the centre of the Ministry of Health's Hospital Quality Standards issued in 2013. Since 2015, the EUHF has been working closely with the Ministry of Health in improving hospital quality in Vietnam. And one of their focused areas is quality management practices in hospitals.

For the past 3 years, the Ministry of Health's quality assessment criteria have been piloted at hospitals in various levels around Vietnam. With support and input from the EUHF, the Ministry of Health is perfecting its quality criteria step by step, so that they correspond well with international standards. Phase 2 of the project, to which 114 million euro has been provided in funding, will see construction of the largest EU Sector Budget Support Operation in Asia, and this is expected to last until the end of 2018.
