This is due to the low demand and high supply of tra fish. The price of tra fish is currently at VND 18,000 - 19,000 or around 70 cents per kg. This is the lowest it's been in the past 10 years. Export processing enterprises not only buy at very low prices but also buy in very small quantities. Several businesses have even stopped buying them altogether. According to the Vietnam Tra Fish Association, the export market is currently facing many difficulties, including technical barriers to some countries. It's really affecting Vietnam's tra fish exports.
