The event attracted the participation of the embassy staff, Vietnamese representative offices in the host country, Vietnamese students, and international friends.
Member of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee and Chairman of the Vietnamese Businesses’ Association in Australia Tran Ba Phuc said that the event provided an opportunity for Vietnamese expatriates to celebrate the traditional festival of the motherland.
A similar gathering was held the same day by the Vietnamese Embassy in Italy. Speaking online with OVs in Italy, the Republic of Cyprus and the Republic of Malta, Vietnamese Ambassador Nguyen Thi Bich Hue briefed them on the outcomes of the 13th National Party Congress and Vietnam’s achievements in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.
She also spoke highly of the Vietnamese communities in Italy, Cyprus and Malta for providing support to residents hit by flooding in Vietnam's central region last year, which she described as an illustration of Vietnamese people’s tradition of solidarity and compassion.
Earlier on February 6, the Vietnamese Embassy in Tanzania held Tet celebration for OVs in the host country, during which the Vietnamese Ambassador extended his best new year wishes to the OVs.
He also expressed his hope that the OVs will continue promoting mutual support and respecting Tanzanian laws and regulations to give international friends a good image of Vietnam.
On the threshold of Lunar New Year, the Vietnamese Consulate General in Vladivostok, Russia, organised a meeting with a team of volunteers who have supported the community in the fight against COVID-19 in Primorye Province.
Vietnamese Consul General Nguyen Hoang Viet hailed the operation of the team, which has been highly appreciated by the local community as a trustworthy force in preventing and controlling the COVID-19 pandemic.
