VTV.vn - Vietnam has won 2 first-prize awards at the 2015 World Architecture Festival held in Singapore.

First held in Barcelona, Spain in 2008, WAF is an annual event aiming to honour impressive architecture around the world.

This year’s event gathered around 2,000 architects from internationally acclaimed and world leading companies to present their designs with unique and creative ideas such as floating buildings in the ocean and bamboo houses. The architects had 20 minutes to present their designs directly before the audience with the aim of impressing the judging panel.

During the three-day festival, 338 works and architectural projects were nominated in 31 categories.

Vietnam had six projects named in five categories, and two works won the WAF awards including the Cam Thanh Community House and Saigon House.

Cam Thanh Community House, located in Cam Thanh commune, Hoi An city, is currently an attractive tourist destination built by 1+1>2 International Architecture JSC. The architecture constructs ancient houses in Hoi An, using environmental-friendly materials and simple textures such as areca, vine, and thatched roofing.
