VTV.vn - In 1981, Viet-Bun Kindergarten was built in Hanoi as a friendship gift from the Bulgarian Women’s Union to Vietnamese children.

34 years later, this kindergarten is the first school in Vietnam to receive Official Development Assistance (ODA) from Bulgaria. On Nov 4th, the Bulgarian Embassy in Vietnam gave teaching equipment, school uniforms, and toys to Viet-Bun Kindergarten as part of the 2015 Bulgarian ODA program.

Yanbibian is a class in Viet-Bun Kindergarten, first opened in 2014. Yanbibian is the name of a famous comic character in Bulgaria. It was chosen as the name of the class to symbolize the Vietnam - Bulgaria friendship.

Bui Thi Kim Xuân, Principal, Viet-Bun Kindergarten said: Kids in the Yanbibian class learn both English and Bulgarian languages. Bulgaria hopes to promote its culture among children in Viet-Bun Kindergarten.

"This is one of Bulgaria’s ODA projects. It provides students with teaching facilities, clothes, and toys. Since its establishment in 1981, Viet-Bun Kindergarten has been a symbol of the two countries’s friendship." said Evgueni Stoytchev, Bulgarian Ambassador to Vietnam.
