Vietnam, UAE aim for 10 billion USD trade turnover

VTV.vn - Minister of Foreign Affairs of the United Arab Emirates Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Foreign Minister is now in Vietnam on a working visit.

The visiting foreign minister was received by Vietnamese PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc in Hanoi on Wednesday. At the talks, the two sides expressed their pleasure  at the development of ties between two countries in recent years. PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc asked to set a new target for two-way trade turnover to 10 billion USD in the next few years.

The two sides also agreed to further promote co-operation in the future; strengthen visits between the two countries at all levels, especially high-level delegations; promote work in such areas as trade, investment, finance and banking and labour co-operation. The UAE foreign minister said the country would help Vietnam in getting Halal Certification in order to export food products to Muslim countries.

UAE keen to enhance bilateral ties

On the same day, UAE Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan also met with Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh. At the meeting, the two sides agreed to enhance bilateral ties at all levels and support each other at multilateral forums and international organisations. Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh asked the UAE to creating favourable conditions for Vietnamese businesses in the UAE. The two sides also agreed to expand co-operation in other areas such as labour, security, energy, tourism and agriculture.
