VTV.vn - On October 28th, in Hanoi, the 14th International Conference on emissions of pollutants from coal burning activities took place.

The conference was co-organized by the International Energy Agency and the University of Natural Resources and Environment. Taking place over three days (from October 28-30), the workshop is a forum for domestic and international experts to discuss and share experiences on advanced technologies in pollution control and promote clean coal production process.

In Asia, especially in Southeast Asia, coal-based thermoelectricity plays an important role in energy security for countries such as Vietnam, Thailand, and Indonesia. However, the burning of coal to produce electricity will create carbon dioxide, mercury, nitrogen oxides, and sulfur oxides, causing serious pollution and affecting human health.
