According to the Centre for Informatics and Statistics (CIS) – Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, Vietnam's rice export volume this year is likely to reach 6.8 million tons, which is nearly 1 million tons higher compared with the export volume last year.
Although the rice export volume saw a decline for 10 months over the same period, Vietnam has signed export contracts of 450 thousand tons with the Philippines and 1 million tons with Indonesia since the end of October. Currently, China has been dominating the import market, with 35 percent market share, followed by Malaysia, Ghana, and Indonesia.
