Vietnam ready to coordinate with RoK in Covid-19 fight

VTV.vn - Spokeswoman for the Foreign Ministry, Lê Thị Thu Hằng, said on Friday that Vietnam is prepared to share and continue to closely coordinate with the Republic of Korea in the prevention, fight and control of COVID-19.

Concerning the decision to suspend the unilateral exemption of visas for citizens from the Republic of Korea, the official said that the Northeast Asian country on February 23 raised its alert to the highest level in the face of the complicated outbreak development in its Daegu city and Gyeongsangbuk province.

Due to this, the Vietnamese government has decided on the move, effective from 0:00 am on February 29. She stressed that this is a temporary measure aimed at fighting the disease and preventing its outbreak and spread in the community, thus ensuring the safety and health of the people of the two countries. She added that Vietnam has notified the Republic of Korea about the decision.
