Vietnam minimum wage to rise 7.3% in 2017

VTV.vn - Vietnam's National Wage Council has announced a 7.3 percent average increase in monthly minimum wages across the country for 2017.

Beginning in January, workers must be compensated between minimums of VND 2.60 million (US$116) to VND 3.75 million (US$166).

Specifically, the minimum wage for region I, including Urban Hanoi, Urban Hai Phong, Urban HCMC, Dong Nai, Binh Duong and Vung Tau is 170 USD/month.

Minimum wage for region 2, including Rural Hanoi, Rural Hai Phong, Da Nang, Da Lat, Nha Trang, Hue, rural district of Hung Yen, and Vinh Phuc is 160 USD/month.

Minimum wage for region III is 140 USD/month) and region 4 is 110 USD.
