Vietnam’s strength comes from its people
Attending the international defence expo organised by the Ministry of National Defence of Vietnam for the first time, Ambassador Olivier Brochet expressed his particular impression with the organisation and the active participation of businesses, as well as the quality of the products displayed. The quantity and quality of the exhibition show that it has received great attention, he said, while affirming that the strength of Vietnam comes from its people. The expo demonstrates the strength of the Vietnamese people in the cause of safeguarding the nation, added Ambassador Olivier Brochet.
Ambassador Olivier Brochet agreed with the assessment that the Vietnam International Defence Expo 2024 is organised on a larger scale compared to 2022, reflecting Vietnam's policy of being a friend to all nations and in line with Vietnam's "four no’s" defence policy. "The participation of a large number of international delegations and businesses shows the quality of Vietnam's relations with the rest of the world", Ambassador Olivier Brochet affirmed.
While visiting the exhibition, Ambassador Olivier Brochet praised Vietnam's defence industry products, including those from the Military Industry-Telecommunication Group (Viettel). He said that Vietnam has many opportunities to develop its defence industry.
Vietnam truly values the development of defence industry
Attending the opening ceremony for the event, Vice Admiral Angus Topshee said that at the expo, he had the opportunity to meet many suppliers and see their products, some of which he had not encountered at other defence expos. He expressed his pleasure at recognising the new defence and security solutions that have been introduced and displayed. This shows the diversity of the event organised by the Ministry of National Defence of Vietnam.
According to the Commander of the Royal Canadian Navy, the spirit of the expo’s theme of "Peace, Friendship, Cooperation for Development" is a very meaningful message that reflects the shared goals and concerns of the international community, including both Vietnam and Canada. After visiting the booths by the Ministry of National Defence of Vietnam, Vice Admiral Angus Topshee expressed that he realised that Vietnam truly values the development of its defence industry with highly advanced combat systems. He believes that the two countries can learn from each other. He has personally learned some solutions from Vietnamese suppliers as well as other suppliers at the expo.
