Vietnam attracts nearly 35.5 billion USD in FDI in 2018

VTV.vn - The total newly registered and additional investment of foreign firms (FDI) this year reached nearly 35.5 billion USD, equaling 98.8% compared to the same period last year.

According to the Foreign Investment Agency, Ministry of Planning and Investment, it is estimated that foreign direct investment projects have disbursed over 19 billion USD, up 9.1% over the same period. The most attractive area for FDI capital is manufacturing and processing, accounting for nearly 47%, followed by wholesale, retail and real estate.

Currently there are 112 countries and territories investing in Vietnam, with Japan, South Korea and Singapore topping the list. Meanwhile, Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City and Hai Phong continue to show great attraction for FDI funds.
