The carrier plans to first deploy the aircraft on the key Hanoi-Ho Chi Minh City route, before scheduling it on international services such as the Hanoi-Paris route Airbus claimed.
The 305-seat aircraft includes 29 business seats, 45 premium-economy and 231 economy seats.
Addressing the welcoming ceremony, Commercial Vice President of Vietnam Airlines Trinh Ngoc Thanh said the arrival of the Airbus A350-900 marked the beginning of a major upgrade of Vietnam Airlines’ long-haul fleet.
