U.S. denies visa to Russian UN Assembly

Moscow officials said the visa applications were returned with an explanation that they had been submitted too early, but they were returned too late to allow them to be resubmitted.

A Kremlin spokesman said that the US's refusal to grant visas to Russian delegations is unacceptable, and that the US has no right to impose any restrictions on delegates to the UN General Assembly. The Russian foreign ministry has also summoned a US diplomat to protest the incident.
