VTV.vn - Salt water has intruded some 70 kilometers into the mainland across provinces in the Mekong Delta region.

The water level in rivers and fields hit the lowest record in the last 30 years. Local people are also facing a lack of water for both farming and daily usage. According to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, from now until March 22nd, households living 35-40 km from the sea front can take fresh water from the Mekong river thanks to water from upstream hydropower reservoirs.
