Vietnam to turn off lights for Earth Hour Campaign 2016

VTV.vn - With 170 other countries and territories, Vietnam will turn off all its lights and electric devices for 1 hour as part of the Earth Hour Campaign 2016.

The event will take place at August Revolution Square in Hanoi and other locations across the country at 8 p.m today (March 19th). All lights and electric devices will be turned off from 8:30 p.m. The campaign began in the beginning of March and has attracted thousands of people and enterprises, with several activities, such as cycling and running. Vietnam launched the campaign in 2009. Last year, the country saved 520 thousand Kw/h, equivalent to about 38 thousand USD.
