The effects of the storm were experienced well before its landfall, with heavy rain pouring down on the central provinces since 7am Sunday.
As of 4am this morning, total rainfall from Thanh Hoa to Thua Thien Hue provinces reached 70 to 150 millimeters, while Nghe An to Quang Binh Provinces in particular saw 100 to 250mm.
At 4 am this morning, the eye of Tropical storm was situated in the mountainous region between Nghe An and Ha Tinh provinces, creating wind speeds of 60 to 75 kilometers per hour.
In the next 12 hours, Talas is expected to move westward inland at a speed of 20 kilometres per hour, before turning into a tropical depression as forecasted. We'll continue to update you on Talas and its effects in our following bulletins.
