VTV.vn - Ho Chi Minh City authorities recently announced a plan to develop agriculture, saying they want to promote agriculture along with tourism.

This will be appropriate for the city, help farmers earn a little extra and promote both tourism and agriculture. After a short trial in some areas, Ho Chi Minh City has decided to speed up the plan.

“We need investments that link and synchronize. It takes 2 hours to come to Cu Chi, and there aren't many interesting places to stop on the way”, Bui Ta Hoang Vu – Director of Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism said.

“We teach farmers to grow fruits and vegetables that grow all year so than when visitors come they can buy produce to take home. If tourists come when fruits or vegetables are not in season, they can't buy to take home”, Nguyen Phuoc Trung – Director of Department of Agriculture and Rural development in Ho Chi Minh City – said.

Ho Chi Minh City will have specific measures to attract the participation of farmers and investment by businesses. The city also has plans to build a highway connecting Ho Chi Minh City, Cu Chi and Moc Bai to reduce the travelling time and promote agriculture and tourism.
