Editors Thu Ha and Huu Bang teamed up to host the latest episode of Take Off, themed Source. While editor Thu Ha had previously appeared on the programme in its July edition, this was Huu Bang’s first time on the show. The pairing of the two familiar editors, both well known to audiences through VTV’s news programmes, is expected to inject fresh energy to Take Off in the months ahead.
Take Off is a popular programme on VTV1 that shares inspiring stories of people who have made meaningful contributions to the country’s development and helped strengthen Vietnam’s standing through their own efforts and deep attachment to their homeland.
Born in 1988, editor Thu Ha was one of the top ten finalists in the 2006 Miss Vietnam pageant. At just 23, she became a presenter on VTV’s flagship 7 P.M. News programme, making her the youngest editor-anchor on the show at the time. More recently, she has also made her mark on several technology-focused programmes broadcast on VTV2.
Reflecting on her first time hosting Take Off, Thu Ha shared: “This was my first time joining Take Off, and it was such a meaningful programme that the more I hosted and listened, the more emotional I became. There were moments when I had to try very hard to stay composed and not burst into tears on air. It was also the first time I had shared my own family’s story on television , about my uncle whose remains have still not been found and the longing my grandparents carried until the end of their liveslives. I also talked about the journey my father and relatives have undertaken to search for him. This is not a unique story ; it is one shared by many Vietnamese families who are still waiting”.
Joining Thu Ha is editor Huu Bang, who is known for his polished and professional presenting style. His on-screen presence has earned him strong audience support. He once topped the public vote and was named among the top five nominees for Impressive Presenter at the 2018 VTV Awards. With their confident stage presence and extensive experience in television journalism, Thu Ha and Huu Bang are expected to help convey the programme’s meaningful and thought-provoking messages to a wider audience.
