Top 6 Contestants Compete in the "Challenge of Bravery" Round
The top 6 best-performing contestants from Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology entered the "Challenge of Bravery" round. The contestants were split into two teams: the Support Team (Nguyen Thi Thuy, Doan Trong Nghia, Ngo Quoc Tuan) and the Opposition Team (Nguyen Thi Quyen, Nguyen Le Gia Bao, Nguyen Van Thai).
Both teams debated and argued over the motion: "We believe that artificial intelligence (A.I.) and machine learning will outperform humans in the finance sector in the future".
Contestant Nguyen Thi Thuy, representing the Support Team, presents arguments on the proposed topic.
Contestant Nguyen Thi Thuy represented the Support Team, arguing that AI would greatly enhance predictive accuracy due to its superior ability to process and analyze large amounts of information compared to humans, which is especially vital in finance.
She emphasized that A.I.'s real-time data processing speed would be much faster than that of humans. Additionally, she noted that while humans might make emotional decisions in unpredictable situations, AI would remain objective, relying solely on data.
More importantly, AI can quickly and accurately analyze financial models and trends, as well as store large volumes of data, helping to reduce costs in data storage and management.
Contestant Nguyen Thi Quyen, representing the Opposition Team, argues that AI cannot fully replace humans in the field of finance.
On the Opposition Team, Nguyen Thi Quyen argued that AI could not fully replace humans in finance. She made 3 points.
First of all, humans are the ones who design and program AI, meaning it cannot function without human intervention.
There are also risks associated with AI,such as the potential to manipulate markets.
Lastly, she emphasized that AI is still prone to errors and malfunctions, underscoring the irreplaceable role of humans.
Contestant Nguyen Le Gia Bao continues the opposition's “advantage” by arguing that AI lacks creativity and emotional intelligence
The Opposition Team continued to gain the upper hand when contestant Nguyen Le Gia Bao pointed out that the process of building trust and gaining the favor of investors and fundraisers is something AI cannot achieve. Additionally, AI lacks the creativity that humans possess, as it relies on processing data that has been pre-programmed by humans. This rigidity often causes these "advanced" tools to miss opportunities to create breakthrough products, innovations, and extraordinary contributions.
