The 2016 National External Information Service Awards

VTV.vn - The Commission for Communications and Education, the Central Steering Committee for External Information Services announced the start of the 2016 National External Information Service Awards on November 8th in Hanoi.

The 2016 award is aimed at celebrating and encouraging works in the External Information field. Subjects participating in the award selection this time have been extended, beyond the works of photo categories, genres such as print, radio, television and online journalism, photo journalism, and landscape photos, this time will include external communications books.

"Besides giving Vietnamese images and information to the outside world through press and other media, the book sector is another area of importance, with many works that portray all the hidden beauty and unique traditional culture of Vietnam, as well as international collaborators' view of Vietnam”, said Pham Van Linh - Deputy Head of the Party Central Committee's Information and Education Commission.

Works competing for the award are in Vietnamese and other languages that were released or posted on mass media in Vietnam and abroad in 2016. The works must serve as information and PR for the foreign affairs of Vietnam.

Vietnamese individuals and foreigners who have newspaper and book works that fit the criteria can submit their work for the award.

"I think it was a good opportunity for everyone, apart from the professional competence, patriotism was also expressed as was the desire to take Vietnamese images to introduce and promote to the world”, said Pham Van Linh.

The Voice of Vietnam, the organizer of this year competition, will receive works from now until the end of March 2017. The announcement ceremony and the awards are expected to be held in May 2017 in Hanoi.
