Cooperation in science and technology in the digital era was the main topic discussed in this session. Accordingly, governments, scientists and the private sector were urged to promote collaboration in science and technology. In 2017, APEC will continue implementing the Science, Technology and Innovation Strategic Plan from 2016 to 2025. According to statistics, as of September 2016, the number of internet users in the Asia-Pacific region accounted for 50% of the world's internet users.
