In order to ensure its international commitments, Vietnam's agriculture sector has been making efforts to produce rice sustainably while effectively reducing gas emissions. On Friday, Agresults, a project aiming to achieve this goal was officially launched in Thai Binh province.
The outstanding feature of the Agresults is encouraging farmers and enterprises to create rice species andcultivation methods which produce the smallest amount of gas emissions.
The project will run until 2021. It is expected to provide livelihoods for 75,000 farmers, reduce 375,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide and cut production costs by 15%.
