Temperatures in Spain and Portugal are forecast to reach 45 degrees Celsius today and may be higher this Sunday. Unusual heat is also noted in the popular Italian tourist city-Rome.
The temperature in Rome yesterday reached 44 degrees Celsius. Many visitors had to fight the heat by drinking plenty of water, utilizing the shade and fountain to keep cool.
Meanwhile, the German Farmers' Association has asked the government to support 1 billion euros due to crop failures causing by heat wave and drought.
