The province has harvested nearly 30% of the summer-autumn rice crop, yet more than 170 thousand hectares of rice haven't been harvested.
18 thousand hectares are facing high risks if the water goes up quickly. The risk of loss increases since tides and typhoons are forecast to occur. Therefore, provincial leaders requested the localities to keep a close watch for flooding or severe weather to warn people in a timely manner.
Localities need to prepare emergency response plans, speed up the harvesting process in flood risk areas, pay special attention to landslides, and be able to quickly move people to safe places.
