South Korea sends relief team to help victims of Laos dam collapse

VTV.vn - South Korean President Moon Jae-in ordered measures including an emergency relief team to help victims of the collapse of a dam being built by South Korean companies in Laos, his office said on Wednesday.

South Korean presidential spokesman stated in a briefing that their president ordered robust measures including sending an emergency relief team while looking into the cause of the accident, as South Korean companies were participating in the dam construction.

The incident took place on Tuesday after a hydropower dam under construction broke in the Sanamxay District. The Lao government has order evacuation to bring people in the affected area to safety.
