This achievement by researchers at the University of Science and Technology of Hanoi (USTH) has paved the way for generating hydrogen from solar energy, an important step in producing clean energy as a replacement for fossil fuels. This research has also been published in Natural Materials - one of the leading journal of materials science and engineering.
Researchers at USTH are trying to enhance the artificial leaf's efficiency to 10% and durability of 1.000 hours as well as its self-repairing capacity. In addition, storing hydrogen in the forms of liquids or solids is also being researched so this technology can be applied soon.
