General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong congratulated and praised the great contributions of the artists and the Union over the past 70 years. He emphasized the roles of art & literature in people's mental life and the nation's struggles for independence and its current developments.
According to General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, the main task of Vietnamese literature within the current context is to reflect national renewal, stimulate good works, and criticize bad habits.
On this occasion, State President Tran Dai Quang presented the Gold Star Order - the highest medal of the Party and State - to the Union for its contribution to Vietnam.
