It is estimated that VAMC can settle 968 million USD of bad debt in 2017, accounting for a third of the total bad debt since the establishment of the company. These positive results point to the successful implementation of the policy. According to VAMC, the banks themselves have been able to settle 29.5 billion USD in bad debt since August 2012.
