The center is tasked with monitoring and protecting the waters, search and rescue activities as well as prevention and action when it comes to coping with natural disasters. The center will also plan training and drills with forces in the region. Attending the launching ceremony, delegates and local citizens also witnessed the search and rescue ship in action on the waters.
