The event drew the participation of high-level members from the Partnerships in Environmental Management for the Seas of East Asia and representatives from the Vietnamese government, including Deputy Prime Minister Hoang Trung Hai and Minister of Natural Resources and Environment Nguyen Minh Quang.
The exhibition, slated to last for 5 days from the 16 to 20th of November, highlights green economy and inter-connection among partners. It showcases initiatives and solutions as well as experience from coastal cities and countries in regulating shorelines, protecting the marine environment and developing marine resources sustainably.
Vietnam and other countries in East Asia are facing various threats such as environmental pollution, a deteriorating ecosystem, overexploited marine resources and increasing natural disasters at sea.
