Over the years, Robocon has become a familiar playground hosted by Vietnam Television for students from technical universities, colleges, and vocational schools nationwide.
This year, the ABU Robocon – the international round of the competition – will be held in Mongolia. To select Vietnam’s representative for the Asia-Pacific Robocon, the Organizing Committee has sent official notices to schools regarding the organization of the Vietnam Robocon 2025.
Accordingly, from April 1 to May 20, 2025, participating teams must complete their registration and robot building. Applications must be submitted to the Department of Science and Technology, Department of Thematic and Educational Broadcasting, Vietnam Television, 16th Floor, Central Building – 43 Nguyen Chi Thanh Street, Ba Dinh District, Hanoi.
The envelope should clearly state: "Application for Vietnam Robocon 2025". For more information, please contact the Vietnam Robocon Secretariat Team at 0982017524.
The preliminary round of Robocon Vietnam 2025 will be held from June 4 to June 6, 2025, at the Ninh Binh Provincial Stadium, Dinh Tien Hoang Street, Dong Thanh Ward, Ninh Binh City, Ninh Binh Province.
The final round of the competition will take place from June 8 to June 13, 2025, at the Ninh Binh Provincial Stadium, Dinh Tien Hoang Street, Dong Thanh Ward, Ninh Binh City, Ninh Binh Province.
Eligibility to Participate in Vietnam Robocon 2025
According to the Organizing Committee, all team members must be enrolled in the same university/college at the time of participation or preliminary judging. Each team must consist of 3 official members, 2 supporting members, and 1 advisor (if any).
The application must be officially endorsed and nominated by the respective institution. Each school can nominate a maximum of 5 teams.
The application for the preliminary round must include:
- A basic description of the robot design plan, including information on weight, size, materials, sensors, motors, etc. Also include details about components used in the competition, such as grippers, throwing mechanisms, power supply, or compressed air systems.
- A basic description of the team’s test field.
- A plan to ensure the safety of participants and spectators.
- A written commitment to abide by the rules of the competition and uphold the spirit of fair play.
Selection Process for the Final Round of Robocon Vietnam 2025
As in previous years, registered teams will not compete in qualifying matches. Instead, the Organizing Committee will assess team's performance based on the robot's results in the preliminary round.
In the preliminary round, participating teams will gather at the competition venue prepared by the Organizing Committee in Ninh Binh City. There, the teams will demonstrate their robots’ ability to score points or complete the tasks outlined in the competition on a standard field. Each team will perform three times, and there will be no head-to-head matches.
Competition officials will supervise, record, and score the results. The average score of three runs or the best performance may be used to determine the finalists. The top scoring teams will advance to the final round.
In the final round, teams will compete in group stages, quarterfinals, semifinals, and the championship match. The final round will feature head-to-head matches in a central arena to determine the national champion of Robocon Vietnam 2025.
