Rice exports to Europe grow strongly

In the first 6 months of the year, Vietnam's rice exports reached 4.27 million tons, with a total turnover of 2.3 billion USD, an increase of over 34% over the same period last year.

In particular, export turnover to a number of countries in the European region grew strongly to triple digits. According to experts, the EU-Vietnam Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA) has opened up unprecedented opportunities for Vietnamese rice.

Thanks to the preferential tariffs, the export of fragrant rice and high-quality rice to the EU market is highly appreciated and gives positive results.

Specifically, rice exports in the first 6 months of the year to Poland increased by 117%, to Belgium by 165% and to Spain by 308%.
