Speaking at the opening ceremony, Chairman of Tuyen Quang Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Van Son emphasised, that after its 14 editions, the programme has established itself as an important tourist product, helping to promote the potentials and advantages of each locality in Viet Bac region and facilitate the rapid and sustainable socio-economic development of the entire region.
The event has also contributed to boosting the tourism linkage among six northern mountainous provinces and increasing the number of tourists to the region.
Accordingly, in the 2009-2022 period, the region welcomed over 71 million visitors, an average growth rate of over 15%/year.
This year's programme will take place until September 27, with many attractive cultural, artistic, and sports activities, including the Festival of Community-based Tourism and Cultural Villages in the region, film screenings, a trade and tourism expo, a cuisine festival, and a Hanoi Beer Festival.
Various folk games, sporting events, and art performances are also scheduled to entertain local people and tourists on the occasion.
