Prime Minister wraps up official visit to Japan

VTV.vn - Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc and his delegation concluded a five-day official visit to Japan on June 8.

Before leaving the country, the prime minister visited the Nidec Group, met with leaders of Japan-Vietnam Friendship Association in some cities and visited the Vietnamese Consulate General in Osaka.

Before concluding his official visit to Japan, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc visited the Nidec Group, the second largest car manufacturer in the world. The group has invested in Ho Chi Minh City since 1998 with seven projects worth nearly 800 million USD. It is also studying a 500 million USD investment project at Hoa Lac Hi-tech Park.

Prime Minister Phuc said the Vietnamese government and Hanoi would create the best conditions for foreign investors, including Nidec, to operate effectively in the hi-tech park.

Prime Minister Phuc later met with leaders from the Japan-Vietnam Friendship Association branches in Osaka, Hyogo, and Nara prefectures and Sakai city. At the meetings, he recognised their active contributions to the enhancement of people-to-people and cultural exchanges between the two countries.

Local branch leaders said their organisations would closely co-ordinate with Vietnam in hosting activities in celebration of the 45th founding anniversary of diplomatic ties in Osaka and Kansai regions in 2018.

Before concluding his official visit to Japan, PM Phuc visited the Vietnamese Consulate General and the Vietnamese community in Osaka. He asked the consulate to support the Vietnamese community working and living in the city. He also asked the consulate to learn more about what businesses wanted to foster trade, investment and tourism co-operation between Vietnam and Osaka city.
