Prime Minister urges localities to take care of workers’ needs

VTV.vn - On Saturday morning, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc had a meeting with representatives from the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour.

According to the Prime Minister, the government has agreed to support the Confederation in taking care of the needs of workers at industrial parks and export processing zones.

Improving the living conditions of workers in the industrial area and promoting the role of the union are among the issues discussed at the meeting. According to Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc, it is important to find solutions to the most pressing problems for workers, such as cultural institutions, housing, and kindergartens for their children.

 Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc also urged the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour to immediately build houses, supermarkets, kindergartens, cultural buildings, and legal aid centres for workers. In the near future, the Government will support 15 industrial parks and export processing zones. The Prime Minister also requested local authorities reserve land to build residential areas for workers, as well as provide tax support for investors to reduce construction costs.
