Prime Minister calls for German support for Mekong Delta

VTV.vn - Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc met with German Ambassador Christian Berger on Wednesday on the sidelines of the Conference on Sustainable and Climate-Resilient Development of the Mekong Delta.

The government leader thanked the German government for its effective cooperation and support, adding that such German-assisted programmes have significantly contributed to Vietnam's socio-economic development. The PM expressed his hope that the German government would continue its support to the Mekong Delta in development planning. Ambassador Christian Berger pledged to hold working sessions with relevant Vietnamese agencies to accelerate bilateral co-operation in the sustainable and climate-resilient development of the Mekong Delta. The diplomat expressed his wish that the both governments continue increasing co-operation. He also hoped that co-operation initiatives between Vietnam and other countries and development partners, including Germany, would transform the challenges posed by climate change into opportunities.
