VTV.vn - A collection of 30 photographs that illuminate the beauty of Hanoi and Hue at night are now on display at the Sofitel Legend Metropole Hanoi.

Châu Long Street in Hanoi, Phan Đăng Lưu Street in Huế, An empty market corner, An empty alley... These are some of the 30 pictures showcased at the Sofitel Legend Metropole Hanoi, out of the thousands captured by this French Photographer since 2007. These works were taken between the hours of 6 p.m. and 6 a.m.

Sébastien Laval said: I have wandered around Hanoi many nights, and I always feel an extraordinary vibe going on, especially, the changing of colors, the empty streets, and the closed shops. More importantly, those things you cannot always see during the day.

Sebastien discovered a new urban landscape, transformed by the absence of harsh daylight into a more magical place, alive with colors and textures that require the company of moonlight to illuminate houses, streaking motorbikes, and blurred shadows of people while the camera flashes.

Nguyen Phuong Anh, Viewer said: These photos must be taken very late at night, at least after 11pm. I do not think that even those who were born and raised in Hanoi are aware of this different Hanoi after midnight.

"Unlike European countries, Hanoi and Hue do not have that much light. This has made Hanoi and Hue even more stunning in their own ways at night, with a perfect combination of both light and shadow," Lolo Zaza, French Artist said.

This exhibition will be on display at the Sofitel Legend Metropole Hanoi from April 14 – 23 and at the MGallery La Residence Hue Hotel & Spa in Hue from April 29 – May 4.
