Perspective of international scholars on Dien Bien Phu campaign

At an international conference organized by universities from Vietnam and France on Friday in Hanoi on the occasion of the 65th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu campaign, scholars once again commented on the stature of the victory.

For the French, Dien Bien Phu was one of the last chapters of the 8-year Indochina war. But from this painful past and with reconciliation efforts from both sides, Dien Bien Phu has become a memory and a lesson to learn from for the French so that they do not make the same mistakes in the 21st century.
