Within the ceremony, the organising board honoured 101 examples, including 21 collectives and 80 individuals, who have made significant contributions to the community, particularly in the city’s fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.
Many of them have actively participated in social charity activities, the building of rural areas, environmental protection, national security protection, disaster relief, and community healthcare.
Speaking at the event, Politburo member and Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Nguyen Van Nen said that despite coming from different social backgrounds, age groups, and religions, the honourees share a common sense of patriotism, compassion, and devotion to the community.
He asked for further efforts and prompt actions to detect and honour good people and good deeds in order to spread optimism and positive energy to people in the city.
