Have you ever wondered what it would be like if books could speak? In many remote and mountainous areas, difficult travel conditions mean that countless eager young readers still have limited access to major libraries. To help bridge that gap, Vietnam Television (VTV) has introduced a very special gift: the Little Sun - Cloud Library. This completely free audiobook library offers not only familiar fairy tales but also classic literary works and valuable science books. Through engaging narration, these stories and books aim to provide meaningful lessons and inspire children to dream big.
The official launch of the Little Sun - Cloud Library was one of the highlights of the Sparkling Summer special program, broadcast on May 31. The digital library project was created to fulfill the commitment that “every child deserves support on their journey of learning and growing up.”
During the launch ceremony, Mr. Do Thanh Hai (Standing Deputy Director General of Vietnam Television), Mr. Le Hai Long (Standing Vice Chairman of the Central Council of the Ho Chi Minh Young Pioneer Organization), and Mr. Dinh Tran Viet (Head of VTV’s Culture and Entertainment Department) joined artists on stage to perform the official launch ritual.
The Little Sun - Cloud Library is much more than a simple digital archive. It is a large-scale digital library project that has been carefully developed and professionally crafted. During its initial phase, the project successfully brought together more than 100 artists, public figures, and experienced editors. “At first, I wondered whether my voice would still be suitable for reading stories to children. I hope that when they listen to the stories I narrate, they will find them interesting and engaging”, actress Hong Diem shared.
“This is something that none of us in my generation could have ever imagined. I am truly excited and honored to contribute my voice, although I jokingly consider it quite old now, to this project. Bringing books and a love of reading to the future generations of our country is a wonderful idea. When audio brings stories to life, it shortens every distance”, said veteran journalist Lai Van Sam.
The project carries profound humanitarian value, too, by providing free, equal access to knowledge for children in remote areas, especially visually impaired children, who greatly benefit from high-quality audiobooks for both learning and entertainment. “I, as well as many other artists, truly want to support and participate in this non-profit project,” shared singer Bao Tram.
The Little Sun - Cloud Digital Library will officially be available starting June 1, 2026, through the Little Sun Digital Library mobile application and the Little Sun Digital Library portal hosted on the website of VTV Times and the national digital television platform VTVgo.
