VTV.vn - A new heat wave is forecast to expand to northwestern provinces from September 1 until the end of this week on September 5, according to the National Centre for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting (NCHMF).

Due to the influence of a hot low-pressure in the west, northeastern and central provinces will suffer hot weather with highest temperatures from 34-37C with some places to reach over 37C.

The hot temperatures of over 35C will last from 12-16 hours per day while the humidity will be low at about 50-65%.

The heat wave will expand to northwestern provinces and is expected to conclude on September 6 while hot weather will continue to prolong in central provinces.

The UV index in Hanoi and Da Nang is forecast 7-9 on August 31, meaning a high risk of harm to the human body if exposed directly to the sunlight.

Showers and thunderstorms are forecast to occur later in the day in regions across the country and localities should watch out for the possibility of whirlwinds, lightning and strong winds, according to weather forecasting agency.
