Speaking at the event, Party leader Trong praised the contributions of the media and the association in recent years and asked the media to continue to serve as a bridge between the Party, the state, and the people. Regarding the association’s future endeavors, he said that it should continue to promote President Ho Chi Minh’s moral example among journalists. It should also strengthen cooperation with functional agencies and media organizations to improve its performance.
The Congress was attended by more than 500 journalists representing over 22,000 members of the association nationwide. It elected 57 members to the VJA’s executive board for the 2015-2020 term. The Editor-in-Chief of the Nhan dan (People) daily, Thuan Huu, will remain VJA Chairman in the 10th term.
