In order to spread the meaning and historical value of the great victory of the Spring 1975 Offensive that liberated the South and reunified the country among the people and the army, Vietnam Television (VTV), under the direction of the Central Commission for Propaganda and Mass Mobilization, is producing a live television bridge program entitled “The Triumph Resounds Forever”. This program is also part of a key content lineup by VTV to commemorate major national events in 2025.
The live broadcast program Vang Mai Khuc Khai Hoan (Forever Echoing the Triumphal Song) will be conducted at three live broadcast locations: Thong Nhat Park on Tran Nhan Tong Street, Hai Ba Trung District (Hanoi); the northern area of Hien Luong Flagpole, Vinh Linh District (Quang Tri); and Saigon Riverside Park, Thu Duc City (Ho Chi Minh City).
Alongside this special live broadcast, the Culture and Entertainment Department of Vietnam Television (VTV) also produces a series of programs commemorating the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification. One of these is the documentary series “Stories of Reunification”, which will be aired on Cafe Sang (Morning Coffee).
This series takes viewers back to the historical days following April 30, 1975, when the nation officially opened a new chapter, free from division and war. The episodes revisit tearful and joyful reunions, like the homecoming journeys of those returning from the North to the South, soldiers embracing their mothers, wives, and children in emotional reunions, and friends reuniting after being separated by war. Listening to their stories—those of historical witnesses who lived through those transformative days—offers a deeper understanding of the profound meaning behind the word “reunification”. The series is being aired from April 8 to April 30 on VTV3 and across VTV's digital platforms.
Another program airing on this occasion is Time, Oh Time! Telling A Story, specially themed to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the historic April 30 Victory and to honor the Vietnam People’s Army. This is not just a TV program but also a colorful cultural mosaic that connects the past with the present through emotional storytelling and distinctive artistic performances. The show features guests such as director Bui Thac Chuyen, actors Thai Hoa, Ho Thu Anh, Vien Hong Quang, painter Dang Ai Viet, writer and Colonel Dang Vuong Hung, photographer Nguyen Tien Anh Tuan, composer Pham Thanh Ha, among others. From film, music, painting, to architecture and sculpture, these multi-generational guests will share their perspectives on the pride of the People's Army and the glorious victory of April 30, 1975.
Additionally, on VTV3’s digital platforms, a campaign titled “Love Vietnam” will be launched. This initiative invites viewers nationwide to share family photos and heirlooms related to the historic April 30 victory, accompanied by personal stories. Audiences will also be encouraged to take part in a creative challenge: transforming everyday clothing into historically symbolic attire such as military uniforms, youth volunteer outfits, or traditional Southern attire like the “ao ba ba” with checkered scarves. The digital team will also produce numerous reports on this national historical event to share with audiences across platforms.
